In Latvia on Team Practice Session

Tomorrow the team of Georgian National Luge Team along with its chief coach and President of national Luge Federation Felix Kumaritashvili are leaving for Latvia for team practice session, which is financed by the International Luge Federation in response to the request of Georgian National Olympic Committee.

Just One Medal in Amsterdam

This weekend the Capital of the Netherlands hosted the tournament of Grande Prix in Judo, in which ten Georgian Judo wrestlers participated. The performance of the trainees of Coach Peter Zeizenbacher was unconvincing and as a result, our team managed to win only one medal.

In Birmingham, England, the 22nd World Trampolining Championship, where the licenses for London-2012 Olympic Games were distributed, two Georgian athletes Luba Gelovani and Tengiz Koshkadze suffered a major setback.

Three Olympic Licenses Retained

Six Georgian athletes participated in the World Licensing Weight Lifting Championship in Paris. Among them the best was Gia Machavariani (105kg), silver medalist of this year's European Championship. He lifted 187kg in a clean and jerk, winning minor Bronze Medal and snatched 222kg.

By initiative and financing of International Olympic Solidarity and Georgian National Olympic Committee along with the support of International Athletics Federation, 22 Georgian specialists of the ‘Queen of Sport' participated in international courses for coaches, which was conducted by Turkish instructor Mehmet Kale.

It was organized by the Georgian National Olympic Committee and the Olympic Solidarity of International Olympic Committee. The issue of preparing for the ‘Tbilisi-2015' Olympic Festival was discussed in addition to the agenda of the conference.
