Just One Medal in Amsterdam

This weekend the Capital of the Netherlands hosted the tournament of Grande Prix in Judo, in which ten Georgian Judo wrestlers participated. The performance of the trainees of Coach Peter Zeizenbacher was unconvincing and as a result, our team managed to win only one medal.

Three Olympic Licenses Retained

Six Georgian athletes participated in the World Licensing Weight Lifting Championship in Paris. Among them the best was Gia Machavariani (105kg), silver medalist of this year's European Championship. He lifted 187kg in a clean and jerk, winning minor Bronze Medal and snatched 222kg.

Seminar on ‘Olympic Education and Sport Management’

The seminar titled ‘Olympic Education and Sport Management' continued for three days at the GEONOC office. It was organized by the Georgian National Olympic Committee and the Olympic Solidarity of International Olympic Committee. The issue of preparing for the ‘Tbilisi-2015' Olympic Festival was discussed in addition to the agenda of the conference.
