The competition of Greco-Roman style wrestling at the World Wrestling Championship in Istanbul is over. Georgian wrestlers managed to win only one Silver Medal.

At the European Basketball Championship in Klaipeda, Lithuania, Georgian National team overcame the Ukrainians by the score of 69:53. Up to date our team had won 1 match and lost 2 games in Klaipeda.

Georgia Defeated Belgium

Georgian National Basketball team achieved its first victory over the Belgian National team by the score of 81:59 at the European Championship in Klaipeda, Lithuania. In the qualifying round the Belgian team had beaten the Georgian team twice.

Beka Gviniashvili Is a World Champion

This is the year of triumph for the young judo wrestler Beka Gviniashvili. He began the year by becoming the Champion of Georgia and then he won the Gold Medal at the European Judo Championship.

Our young Olympians, who participated in the European Youth Olympic Festival in Trabzon, returned to Georgia, bringing 1 Golden, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze Medals.
