The Georgian NOC named Vladimer Khinchegashvili - world champion in free style wrestling as sportsman of the year 2015. The award ceremony took place at the Georgian NOC headquarters. President of the Georgian NOC Mr. Leri Khabelov awarded the champion with diploma, cash prize, Rio 2016 license certificate and other presents. Certificates and gifts were presented to another Rio 2016 qualified athlete, free style wrestler and silver medalist of the First European Games Baku 2016 Elizbar Odikadze.

"This year was very important for our athletes, after ten years we have a world champion in free style wrestling. We hope that other license holders will be well prepared for upcoming Olympiad. I would like to mention our world champion in weightlifting Lasha Talakhadze, who couldn't compete during 2 years and the result he showed this year is very important. We should make all our efforts for the Rio 2016 Games"- stated Leri Khabelov.

The champion received warm congratulations from the First Vice President of Georgian NOC Elguja Berishvili, Vice Presidents Nino Salukvadze and Mamuka Khabareli, Olympic prize winner and twice world champion in free style wrestling Guram Sagaradze, who also received presents from Georgian NOC.
