One of the priorities of Georgian NOC  envisages popularization of Olympism not only in the capital and big cities of Georgia but in the regions  as well. Special attention is  paid to dissemination of Olympic values and encouraging physical activity for vulnerable part of society such as refugee population and  youngsters from Abkhazia and Samachablo.

With the patronage of Georgian NOC and joint initiative of the regional Olympic Committees of Abkhazia, Imereti, Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti Regional Sport Games were organized with the key slogan:" Olympism Unified Us!" Program of the Games included competitions in the following sports: athletics run, basketball, mini-football, tug of war, Olympic quiz and other events.

Unified team of the Abkhazian regional organization surpassed opponents and ranked first in the overall ranking list, while Imereti took the 2^nd  and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti-3^rd places. All three teams were recruited with youth refugees from Abkhazia and Samachablo.  Winners and prizewinners in various disciplines were awarded with the Georgian NOC diplomas, Olympic publications and different prizes.

Regional Sport Games were attended by NOC President, Olympic champion L. Khabelov and NOC First Vice President E. Berishvili.

"It was well organized event with the involvement of our regional organizations -said L.Khabelov - our youngsters revealed excellent sport skills and good knowledge of Olympism. I would like to express gratitude to all organizers of the competitions who hosted this significant event and ensured  high level organization of the Games. Noteworthy is great contribution of the Chairperson of the Abkhazian NOC Amiran Zukhbaia who laid the foundation to the important endeavor  together with his colleagues R.Robakidze and David Kilasonia."

Regional sport for all activities will be continued in future underpinning Olympic ideals among young generation of various regions countrywide.
