Beka Gviniashvili Is a World Champion

This is the year of triumph for the young judo wrestler Beka Gviniashvili. He began the year by becoming the Champion of Georgia and then he won the Gold Medal at the European Judo Championship. After that he succeeded at two international competitions and in July he gained the title of the Champion of European Youth Olympic Festival in Trabzon.
Today the Georgian athlete won the Gold Medal at the World Judo Championship in Kiev. On his way to the Champion's podium, Gviniashvili defeated South Korean Yongil Kim, Bosnian Maurice Ismailovich and Uzbek Mukhridin Mirzaiorov. In the decisive confrontations he overcame the Ukrainian athletes.
The third day of the competition proved to be successful for Georgian judoists. Besides Gviniashvili, our athletes won 1 Silver and 1 Bronze Medals.
