16 September 2011

The competition of Greco-Roman style wrestling at the World Wrestling Championship in Istanbul is over. Georgian wrestlers managed to win only one Silver Medal. Manuchar Tskhadaia (65 kg category) defeated 5 opponents and reached the finals, where he failed to overcome Iranian Seid Morad Abdvali and had to content himself with a Silver Medal. In other weight categories the trainees of Coach Begi Darchia showed an unconvincing performance and failed to get prizes.

Apart from the Silver Medal, Manuchar Tskhadaia gained the license for the London Olympics.
