International Seminar and Trainer Courses in Athletics

By initiative and financing of International Olympic Solidarity and Georgian National Olympic Committee along with the support of International Athletics Federation, 22 Georgian specialists of the ‘Queen of Sport' participated in international courses for coaches, which was conducted by Turkish instructor Mehmet Kale. The training went on for 10 days and yesterday it was concluded with final tests. 13 coaches passed them successfully and received corresponding international certificates.

The athletics arena ‘Manege', located in Didube District of Tbilisi, hosted the event. According to the President of Georgian Athletics Federation Alexandre Akhvlediani, it was the first training arrangement after Georgia's independence, that took place here. He thanked the International Federation and GEONOC for organizing the successful seminar and courses. ‘Frankly speaking, the training surpassed expectations. 13 certified coaches will greatly contribute to the further development of athletics. The training was conducted by a highly-qualified specialists, who enriched the experience of our coaches', Akhvlediani said. On his part, Mehmet Kale praised his Georgian hosts. ‘I have been conducting seminars in many countries; however, I have never felt such warm, businesslike atmosphere and attention of relevant federations', the Turkish guest remarked.
