After about two decades Georgian NOC Imereti branch organized in Kutaisi for the first time swimming festival. Long term interval was reasoned by absence of swimming pool, relevant sport infrastructure and aquatic sports. About 150 swimmers participated in the Festival in 4 age categories (1999-2002). All the winners received NOC certificates and commemorative gifts.Furthermore, special competition was organized among youngsters born in 1998-1999 as this age category swimmers will compete in the 2015 EYOF in Tbilisi. The competition revealed talented and promising athletes. Noteworthy is that important sport activities in Kutaisi coincided with 55 anniversary date of the Head of NOC Imereti regional office Revaz Robakidze.
