There were 4 athletes representing Georgia in Nagano. 3 of them already participated in the previous Olympic Games being experienced athletes: Zurab Jijishvili, Levan Abramishvili, and Kakha Tsakadze, while Sophiko Akhmeteli was involved in the Games for the first time. She is the first Georgian woman who tookpart in the Winter Olympic Games. She was the one who carried Georgian flag during the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics. Akhmeteli competed in slalom however she had to leave the tournament due to disqualification. Levan Abramishvili left the tournament again like in Lillehammer with disqualification.
Zurab Jijishvili significantly improved his results and ranked 14th in alpine combined, Kakha Tsakadze ended up 55th in ski jumping from 90 meter jump and 59th - from 120 meter jump.
