16 representatives from Georgia took part in the Seoul Olympic Games. Nino Salukvadze was the best participant who won gold and silver medals in shooting. Apart from Salukvadze, the free-style wrestler David Gobejishvili, the gymnast Vladimir Gogoladze (team competition), the foil fencer Vladimir Aptsiauri (team competition) and the football player Gela Ketashvili also became the Olympic Champions. Leri Khabelov, free-style wrestler won the 2nd place. The judokas Gia Tenadze and Amiran Totikashvili, the runner Maya Azarashvili, the pentathlon athlete Vakhtang Iagorashvili and the water polo player Michael Giorgadze were the bronze medalists.
