First Medals at EYOF in Trabzon

Yesterday the mood of our judo coach Giorgi Vazagashvili improved slightly, when his trainees won 2 bronze medals.
Yesterday our judo wrestler girls (52.57kg weight category) and judoist men (60.66kg weight category) fought for medals. After losing to an Italian athlete, Mariam Janiashvili (57kg) achieved victory over the adversaries from Iceland, Finland and Ukraine and secured the opportunity to participate in the fight for a bronze medal. Mariam Tsikhelashvili, the second female judo wrestler lost to Italian and Polish athletes.

Among men judo wrestlers Tamaz Kirakozashvili (60kg) and Giorgi Muziashvili won bronze medals.
Georgian track and field athletes improved the results that they showed the day before. In triple jump Lasha Gulelauri covered 15.28 meters and secured the place among the best 12 athletes who will participate in the finals. As a matter of fact, Gulelari improved his recent World Championship result by 20 cm.

Salome Siradze overcame the qualification barrier in a 200 meter distance race and moved to the semi-finals. Giorgi Azarashvili failed in the same discipline. Tinatin Papuashvili was the 8th in a 1500 meter run.
