Eastern European Anti-Doping Organization Will Be Hosed in Tbilisi

On September 20-22 Georgian Capital hosted the conference and workshop of Eastern European Anti-Doping Organization. The conference was attended by high-ranking officials of World Anti-Doping Agency: Rob Kokhler, Director of the Department of Education, Science and Development Programs of World Anti-Doping Agency; Tom May, Chief Manager of Development Programs; Victoria Ivanova, Manager of Science Department and Heads of Ant-Doping Organizations of 12 countries - Albania, Serbia, Monte Negro, Macedonia, Bosnia-and-Herzegovina, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.

On September 20, at the conference of the members of the Council of Eastern European Anti-Doping Organization, Rob Kokhler, Director of the Department of Education, Science and Development Programs of the World Anti-Doping Agency, acquainted the members of the Council with the proposal of Georgian Anti-Doping Agency to accommodate the office of Eastern European Anti-Doping Organization in Tbilisi. He submitted the official letters of consent, provided by Georgian Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, Georgian National Olympic Committee and Parliamentary Committee for Sport and Youth Affairs.

The members of the Council backed up the initiative of Georgia and our country was elected a host city of the office of the said organization. Professor Pavle Kasradze, Chairman of Georgian National Anti-Doping Agency, was appointed the Chairman of Eastern European Anti-Doping Organization.

Teimuraz Ukleba, Secretary General of Georgian Anti-Doping Agency, was assigned to the position of General Director of Eastern European Anti-Doping Organization; Elene Gabedava was appointed to job of the Manager of the said organization.

On September 22, the participants of the conference were greeted by Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gia Galdava, First Vice President of GEONOC Ramaz Goglidze and Parliamentary Committee for Sport and Youth Affairs Giorgi Asanidze. They assured the participants of financial and organizational support for housing of the office of Eastern European Anti-Doping Organization in Tbilisi.

Mr. Rob Kokhler declared that the World Anti-Doping Agency welcomes the fact of housing of the office of the Eastern European Anti-Doping Organization in Tbilisi and election of Pavle Kasradze to the post of its Chairman. He thanked Georgian Government, Parliament and Georgian National Olympic Committee for their support.
