Gia Natsvlishvili: Olympic Medal in Weightlifting Is Achievable

Today, the press conference at the headquarters of Georgian National Olympic Committee summed up the performance of Georgian athletes at the World Weightlifting Championship in Paris. The members of Georgian team and their coaches attended the meeting as well. President of GEONOC Gia Natsvlishvili and Chairman of Parliamentary Commission for Sport, Vice President of Weightlifting Federation, Olympic Champion Giorgi Asanidze jointly chaired the press conference.
As a whole, Gia Natsvlishvili assessed the performance of our athletes at the Paris competition and three Olympic licenses, gained by them, as a success. ‘They say that appetite comes with eating; therefore, gaining of the fourth license was feasible. We fell short of only 8 points. I would like to thank our boys, coaches and heads of the federation for their work and congratulate them with earning of licenses. The leader of the national team Gia Machavariani deserved the place at the top threesome. Hopefully, he will do it in London', Gia Natsvlishvili said.
Giorgi Asaidze was also content with the results of our team's performance. He mentioned the factor of Chief Coach Vano Grikurov, who is training our athletes after his return from Poland.
According to the tradition, after the press conference, Georgian athletes left their signatures on the board of London licensees.
