Georgian National Olympic Committee Summed Up Year 2011

Today, the leadership of GEONOC summed up year 2011 at the annual summarizing session of Georgian National Olympic Committee.

President of GEONOC Gia Natsvlishvili acquainted the members of the Executive Committee of GEONOC, heads of various sports federations, representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, regional organizations of GEONOC and Olympic champions with the work done in the current year, including success as well as shortcomings.

The discussion at the session covered such issues as important visits, seminars, conferences, programs of retraining of coaches, organizational problems of ‘Tbilisi-2015', preparation for ‘London-2012' and Olympic licenses.

According to Gia Tatsvlishvili, preparation for the London Olympic Games was more or less successful. There were achievements as well as shortcomings in the field of Olympic sports events. Today Georgia has 10 Olympic licenses. By the estimation of Gia Natsvlishvili, we can hope for gaining at least 29-30 licenses. By optimistic evaluation, the number of licenses may reach 38.
