The 1st Youth Winter Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria, abounded with incidents. It began with Russian biathlonists, who were the second to cross the Finnish Line but due to the mistake they made during passing over the baton, they were disqualified and deprived the Silver Medal. In addition to this, the organizers of official award ceremony were induced to postpone the ceremony for the next day. The reason for the delay was the bomb belonging to the times of WW II, which was found on the territory of Botzner Plaza, where the awarding ceremony was to take place. According to the press service of ‘Innsbruck 2012', the bomb was duly defused and the issue was settled.

As for young Georgian athletes from Bakuriani, Susana Gava and Nikoloz Kodanashvili, they participated in the competition in giant slalom. Gava took the 32nd place among 55 athletes and Kodanashvili was the 20th among 48 skiers.

Today, Susana Gava will take part in the competition in ordinary slalom.
