Georgian National Olympic and Paralympic Teams Get Support of BP for 2012 London Olympic Games

Today ‘BP Georgia' Company finalized agreements with Georgian National Olympic and Paralympic Committees. According to the said agreements, BP Company undertakes to support the preparation of several ed athletes of Georgian National teams for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Agreement stipulates that ‘BP Georgia' will stand as an official partner of Georgian National Olympic and Paralympic Committees at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

At the same time, BP presented five Georgian athletes, adding that shortly it would reveal the identity of the sixth athlete, who would complete the group, which is planned to benefit from the BP support prior to, and during the London Olympics in 2012. The ed athletes - 3 members of National Olympic Team and 3 members of National Paralympic Team - will enjoy the status of BP envoys. As of now, 5 ed members of BP-supported team are: Davit Marsagishvili (freestyle wrestling), Lyuba Golovina (trampolining), Yago Gorgodze (chin-ups), Shota Omarashvili (chin-ups), Nikoloz Tvauri (swimming).

At the ceremony of signing the partnership agreement with Georgian National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, Neil Dunn, Director General of ‘BP Georgia' declared: ‘We are proud that ‘BP Georgia' became the sponsor of Georgian Olympic and Paralympic organizations. We feel deep satisfaction thanks to the fact that we are contributing to the successful participation of Georgian athletes in the London Olympics where they will have the status of BP envoys. The entire staff of ‘BP Georgia' will closely watch the training and progress of Georgian teams prior to, and during the London Olympic Games'.

President of Georgian National Olympic Committee Gia Natsvlishvili pointed out: ‘Support of ‘BP Georgia' for our Olympic team will considerably contribute to our athletes' successful performance in London, growth of our international relations and worldwide promotion of our country's image'.

Levan Odisharia, President of Georgian National Paralympic Committee, said: ‘We believe that partnership with BP will assist the Paralympic Committee and our athletes achieve best results at the London Olympic Games. Support of ‘BP Georgia' will be instrumental in promoting the Paralympic sport and inclusive way of life, which is the precondition of success, worthy of special attention'.
