Georgian wrestler Zurab Datunasvhili was defeated in a very tough quarterfinals match against Ermin Ahmadov from Azerbaijan. 21-year old 74 kg Greco-roman wrestler Datunashvili has passed two cycles without losing a point notching a victory in two sets over opponents from South Korea and USA.

The match against Azerbaijani opponent went quite well. He defended himself in parterre but in the second set he had to be active again in the parterre position and lost points that evened the intra set score.

In the third decisive set the Azerbaijani performed the hold on the Georgian athlete and took the lead by 1:0. Datunashvili had only about one minute left and he made a good trick in the last seconds of the 2-minute set, but the bodylocked Azerbaijani athlete who was almost kicked out of the mat managed to perform a counter hold and won the match. Datunashvili still have the chance of winning the bronze medal. If Ahmadov defeats him in the semi-final match the Georgian athlete will continue in the repechage to fight for the bronze medal.
