Changes in the Wrestling Coaching System:

Newly elected President of Georgian Wrestling Federation Luka Kurtanidze at the press conference organized on 8th January announced new chief coaches and their assistants to the three age category national teams in freestyle wrestling.
Major national team of the country was run by Zaza Turmanidze since 1992. From now on this function shall be assigned to the champion of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Revaz Mindorashvili. Consequently assistants to the chief coach will be David Pogosian and Aleksander Kakhniashvili.
Nugzar Skhierely involved so far in training of the youth team shall be replaced by twice Olympic prize winner Giorgi Gogshelidze who will be assisted by Olympic prize winner Otar Tushishvili and David Otiashvili.
Junior team will be run by Shako Bedinidis instead of Tamaz Bendianishvili with the assistants Giorgi Iantbelidze and Gela Saghirashvili.
New coaches of the national teams will carry out the assigned function till the end of 2013. Later National Federation will evaluate their work and take relevant decision on their future tenure and collaboration.
