Gegeshidze and Datunashvili-Silver Medalists

On March 24 European Wrestling Championship taking place at the Tbilisi Palace of Sport  came to an ended. Georgian Greco-Roman wrestlers acquired one bronze and two silver medals. Zurab Datunashvili (74kg) and Vladimer Gegeshidze (74kg) lost in the finals with Russian opponents. 

Before reaching the final stage of the championship Georgian wrestlers competed successfully winning over Croatian and German opponents, but could not outdo active Olympic, world and European champion Roman Vlasov.

Vladimer Gegeshidze easily defeated opponents from Moldova, Bulgaria and Armenia losing in the tough final match with the titled Russian wrestler, fivefold world and European champion, Olympic gold medalist of the Athens Olympic Games Aleksei Mishin.  Finally, Begi Darchia's team ranked third in the team competition.
