Final Training camp of judokas In Khvareli
On 25-28 April European Judo Championship will start in Budapest. Georgian judokas will leave for the capital of Hungary on 23rd April. Trainees of Irakli Uznadze undertook before the championship concluding two-weeks training camp in Khvareli.
"it is for the first time that we organize training camp in Khvareli and all of us are rather satisfied with the conditions, a wonderful merge of beautiful panorama, good training venue and ideal accommodation. Location is another priority here as it is impossible that athlete breaks the discipline"-says one of the leading athletes Varlam Liparteliani who will have to defend his title in Budapest.
The training session in Khvareli was organized with mutual agreement of the NF authorities and the coaches. It was actually a proper choice. Irakli Uznadze, chief coach of the national team is also satisfied with the training and feels rather optimistic. "Preparation for the European Championship was conducted successfully. Training session in Khvareli was very effective and the boys are in good shape. The most important is that the team is physically well trained having good technical skills. We do not have any serious injuries so hopefully we will compete worthily on the tatami in Budapest"-says Irakli Uznadze.
President of Georgian Judo Federation David Kevkhishvili who is also the Governor of Khvareli is practically every time beside his team. Minister of Sport and Youth affairs Levan Khipiani attended open training session and wished the team successful performance at this important event.
Following members of the national team will represent Georgia in Budapest: Amiran Papinashvili (60kg), Lasha Shavdatuashvili (66kg), Nugzar Tatalashvili, Zebeda Rekhviashvili (both 73kg), Avtandil Chrikishvili, Levan Tsiklauri (both 81kg), Varlam Liparteliani (90kg), David Loriashvili (100kg) and Adam Okruashvili (+100kg).
As for the team competition it will take place in 5 weight categories 66,73,81,90, +100kg. and the coach will include in the team additional three judokas-Shalva Kardava (66kg), Zviad Gogochuri (90kg) and Onise Bughadze (+100kg).
