Born on January 18, 1954 in Tbilisi, Handball player.
Competed for Tbilisi Burevestnik (1970-1985) and German Landzchut (1987-1992). Champion of the Montreal Olympic Games (1976 - played 6 matches and scored 13 goals), second-prize winner of the Moscow Olympic Games (1980 - played 6 matches and scored 29 goals), World Champion (1982), second-prize winner of the World Championship (1978), winner of the USSR Cup (1974-1984, played 217 matches for the Soviet Union (scored 572 goals). He coached women's national team of Greece (2000-2001). Honored Master of Sports of the USSR. Recipient of the Vakhtang Gorgasali II class Order and the Order of Honor.
