Born on 01.04.1938 in Tbilisi, Water Polo Player, Goal keeper.

Played for Tbilisi “Dinamo” (1956-1972) and the national team of the USSR (1958-1964). Second-prize winner of the XVII Olympic Games (1960, Rome), European Championship (1962) and the World (1963) University Games.  Three-fold second-prize winner (1960, 1962, 1963) and five-fold third-prize winner (1958, 1959, 1964, 1966, 1967) of the USSR. International Class Master of Sports.Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics, Professor (1985). Dean of the Faculty of General Mathematics (from 1986). The Tbilisi State University vice-chancellor in the field of academics in 1985-1987.Recipient of the Order of Honor.
