Third-prize winner of the XXIV Olympic Games (1988, Seoul) by individual classification (V place by team competition). Participant of the XXVI and XXVIII Olympic Games (1996, Atlanta, 2004, Athens) – XX and IX places. World Champion by team competition (1990) and two-fold second-prize winner by individual classification (1989, 1998), two-fold European Champion by individual and team competition (1987, 1989), three-fold Champion of the USSR (1986, 1988, 1989), Winner of the USSR Cup (1986, 1988), Champion of the Goodwill Games (1986). Honored Master of Sports of the USSR. Represented USA from 1997.
