The Georgian NOC celebrates International Volunteer Day

On 5th December the Georgian NOC celebrated International Volunteer Day.
The solemn ceremony took place at the Tbilisi State University conference hall. Up to 600 volunteers and 50 young successful sportsmen were addressed by Tbilisi Mayor Mr. David Narmania, President of the GNOC Mr. Leri Khabelov and Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia Mr. Shalva Gogoladze.
"This important celebration unites the most active and successful youngsters, who serve their country on patriotic motives. We have witnessed clear and obvious example of their endeavors during the EYOF Tbilisi 2015. Your devotion and patriotism were principal factors that earned this important sport forum such a great success.
Together we passed a very serious exam and evidence to this is the appraisal of authoritative international organizations, experts as well as population in general.
This assessment highlights that the volunteers' group was one of the strongest during the Festival - yet strange and quite new institute for Georgia.
On behalf of the Georgian NOC I would like to thank you for the contribution you made to the organizing process of the EYOF Tbilisi 2015" - stated Leri Khabelov.
Georgian NOC will continue developing and strengthening the volunteer institute, their inclusion in different sport events on local and international level.
The final part of the event took place at Aqua Park "Gino Paradise" where the winners of entertaining competitions received gifts from the NOC President.
