Georgian National Basketball team achieved its first victory over the Belgian National team by the score of 81:59 at the European Championship in Klaipeda, Lithuania. In the qualifying round the Belgian team had beaten the Georgian team twice.

3 000 Georgian fans filled the basketball hall in Klaipeda with the capacity of 5 000 seating places.

The most effective player in the Georgian team was forward Zaza Pachulia, who brought 17 points to his team. The second best was Victor Sanikidze, who scored 11 points and made 4 saves.
