The second-prize winner of the European Championship (1972) and third-prize winner of the Olympic Games (1972). Participant of the World Cup Championship (1970). He played 301 matches in the top league of the USSR (scored 5 goals). The third-prize winner of the USSR Championships (1969, 1971, 1972, Spring 1976). The Chief Coach of Tbilisi ASC (1976), Samtredia "Lokomotive" (1977), Kutaisi "Torpedo" (1978, 1988-89, 2001-2002), Poti "Kolkheti" (1979), Tbilisi "Dinamo" (1991-1993), Rustavi "Metalurgi" (1993-1995), Shepetovka "Temp" (Ukraine, 1995), Latvian national team (1998-1999), Tbilisi "Lokomotive" (1999-2000), Georgian national team (1999-2001 - together with David Kipiani), Elista "Uralani" (Russia, 2002), and that of Vladikavkaz "Spartak-Alania" (Russia, 2003). Under his coaching Tbilisi "Dinamo" (1991, 1992) and Kutaisi "Torpedo" (2001, 2002) became champions of Georgia,while Tbilisi "Dinamo" (1992), Tbilisi "Lokomotive" (2000) and Kutaisi "Torpedo" (2001) won the Cup of Georgia.
