Born on September 10, 1948 in Kutaisi. Tbilisi. Basketball player (196 sm).

Competed for Tbilisi Dinamo (1965-67) and the national team of the USSR (1971-77). Champion of the XX Olympic Games (1972 Munich), third-prize winner of the XXI Olympics (1976, Montreal), European Champion (1971) and a two-fold second-prize winner (1975, 1977), Champion of the USSR (1968) and the second-prize winner (1969), winner of the USSR Cup (1969), Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, recipient of the Vakhtang Gorgasali II clas Order and the Order of Honor. Died on February 8, 2994.
