Member of the national teams of the USSR (1978-1985) and Georgia (1995-1996). Third-prize winner of the Moscow Olympic Games (1980), World (1982) and European (1981) Champion, two-fold winner of Intercontinental Cup (1978, 1979). Honored Master of Sports of the USSR. Recipient of the Order of Honor.
